LARGE SOFTWARE MANUFACTURER
I recently got fired from my job as an accountant for a large software manufacturing company. The company that I worked for was not making as much money as they used to and needed to lay off a few dozen workers, one of which just happened to be me. I went to the local employment agency with hopes of finding a new job, or at least a temporary one; the bills do not stop coming when the money stops coming in. As I was standing in line at the employment agency, I noticed a sign by the front counter that read “help wanted.” I could not believe this. It would be great to find a job this quickly, but I thought that the job was surely already taken and the sign was just there because nobody had taken it down yet. When I asked one of the employees about the sign, they said that it was still available. I applied and for the job and got a call today that I was hired. The job pays well and I have to do basically the same thing as I had to do for my old job. I’m glad that I decided to go to the employment agency today; having a degree in accounting sure does pay off.
